1. About this site

This website, available at https://soboldev.com (the "Site"), is a personal portfolio and technical blog operated by Vasyl Sobol, a natural person residing in Poland (the "Site Owner", "we", "us"). The Site is non-commercial: no products or services are offered or sold through it.

You can contact the Site Owner at sobol.vasiliy@gmail.com.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the "Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of the Terms, please do not use the Site.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, govern your use of the Site.

3. Content and intellectual property

All articles, text, code samples, images, and other materials published on the Site (the "Content") are the intellectual property of the Site Owner, unless explicitly stated otherwise (for example, content credited to a third party, or open-source code marked with its own license).

You are welcome to:

  • Read and share the Content for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • Quote short excerpts from articles, provided that the source is clearly attributed and a link to the original article is included.
  • Use code snippets published in articles in your own projects, unless a different license is explicitly indicated next to the snippet.

You may not:

  • Republish entire articles, in original or translated form, without the prior written permission of the Site Owner.
  • Use the Content for commercial purposes (for example, in paid courses, books, or training materials) without permission.
  • Remove or alter copyright notices or author attributions.

The Site design is based on a template by HTML5 UP, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License (CC BY 3.0). Attribution is provided in the Site footer.

4. Reporting copyright infringement

The Site Owner respects intellectual property rights and expects visitors to do the same. If you believe that material published on the Site infringes your copyright or another intellectual property right, please send a notice by email to sobol.vasiliy@gmail.com with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include the following information:

  • Your name and contact details (email address is sufficient; a postal address may be provided if you wish).
  • A description of the work you claim is being infringed and, where applicable, evidence that you are the rights holder or an authorised representative.
  • The exact URL(s) on the Site where the allegedly infringing material appears.
  • A statement, made in good faith, that the use of the material has not been authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or applicable law.
  • A statement that the information provided in the notice is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Upon receipt of a complete notice, the Site Owner will review the claim without undue delay and, where the claim is substantiated, will take appropriate action - which may include removing the material, modifying it, or adding proper attribution. The Site Owner reserves the right to request additional information to verify the claim and may contact the original source of the material for clarification.

Notices that are knowingly false, misleading, or abusive may be disregarded and, in serious cases, reported to the competent authorities. This procedure is provided as a courtesy and does not affect any other rights or remedies available to you under applicable law.

5. Articles are personal opinions

Articles published on the Site reflect the personal views, experiences, and opinions of the author at the time of writing. They are not:

  • Professional advice (legal, financial, tax, security, or otherwise).
  • An official position of any current or former employer of the author.
  • Guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up to date.

Technical content may become outdated as technologies evolve. You use any information from the Site at your own risk and are responsible for verifying it before applying it in your own work.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its Content are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The Site Owner does not warrant that:

  • The Site will be available without interruption or free of errors.
  • The Content is accurate, complete, or current.
  • The Site is free of viruses or other harmful components.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, all implied warranties are disclaimed. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any rights that you may have as a consumer under mandatory provisions of Polish or EU law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site Owner shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or the Content, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Polish or EU law, including liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for damage to life, body, or health.

8. Third-party links and services

The Site contains links to third-party websites (such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and others referenced in articles). The Site Owner does not control these third-party sites and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Following such links is at your own risk and subject to the terms and privacy policies of the respective third parties.

9. Contact form

The Site provides a contact form that allows you to send a message to the Site Owner. The processing of personal data submitted through the form is described in the Privacy Policy.

You agree not to use the contact form to send unlawful, threatening, defamatory, or commercial unsolicited content (spam).

10. Changes to these Terms

The Site Owner may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the Site, applicable law, or business practice. The current version is always available at the URL where you are reading it now, with the "Last updated" date at the top.

Your continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved by the competent Polish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights that may grant you the right to sue in your country of residence under applicable EU law.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent.
